About

Niyati

Niyati, meaning destiny, is a name that has quietly shaped the course of my life. My creativity surfaced early, in afternoons given to painting and drawing, and in a habit of looking at the world through an artist's eye. That curiosity matured into a deep affection for nature, travel, people and the subtle details that so often go unnoticed. My journey has been anything but linear, yet each detour has led me precisely where I was meant to be. Sekoya is one such destination.

THE ORIGINS OF SEKOYA

Sekoya was a feeling long before it became a brand. During a trip to California, I stepped into a small boutique and encountered a piece of handcrafted silver jewellery: contemporary, understated and unlike anything I had seen. In that moment, I knew I wanted to create in silver. What followed was nearly a year of exploration, learning and design. It was a quiet retreat to the mountains that gave the vision its soul: jewellery drawn from the language of nature. That is where Sekoya truly took root.

My Relationship with Jewellery

My understanding of jewellery was not instinctive; it deepened over time. I began to notice how a single piece could elevate not just an ensemble, but the way a woman carries herself. The connection became intimate around my wedding, and grew through the pieces I gathered along the way, each holding memories far greater than its material worth. I came to understand that the jewellery we cherish most is rarely defined by beauty alone. It holds a feeling, a moment, a fragment of who we are. This is the spirit I set out to capture in every Sekoya design.

The Essence of Sekoya

Named for the Sequoia, a tree that is rooted, resilient and quietly majestic, Sekoya is a tribute to nature and the strength of femininity. We craft considered silver jewellery for women who appreciate pieces that are distinctive without being ostentatious. Organic textures, fluid silhouettes and refined details come together in designs that are modern, timeless and deeply intentional. Sekoya is for the woman who values meaning over excess, craftsmanship over volume and individuality over convention: jewellery as grounded, graceful and quietly powerful as the woman who wears it.

A Note from Niyati

Building Sekoya has been, in many ways, a return to myself. In creating it, I found the space to be seen, heard and understood, and my hope is that every woman who enters this world feels a measure of the same. Sekoya holds everything I believe in: creating with intention, finding beauty in nature, trusting one's own timing and having the courage to be wholly oneself. Beyond jewellery, I envision a community of women who feel deeply, live meaningfully and shine in their own way. Sekoya is my creation, but I hope a part of it becomes yours.
